Jetboat - Informations

Stefan Roos from Sports Unlimited passed 2006 an extensive Jetboat training and examination on the Shotover River at Skippers Canyon in Queenstown / NewZealand (Marine Craft Used For Adventure Tourism / Maritime Rule Part 80). He is the first graduated European Jetboat pilot.

Next stop was Dubai. Sports Unlimited established the first Jetboat site in Dubai in 2007 (UAE) and operated a Promotion activity for the following 2 years. After that mission, Sports Unlimited brought their Crafts back to Germany.
After the opening in March 2009 of the first Jetboat site in Germany, the fleet of Crafts rised up to 3 original New Zealand built Jetboats. Between the cities Regensburg and Kelheim on the river Danube (Donau), Sports Unlimited created a huge demand in Germany for this kind of extreme water experience. From 2010 there are 3 different crafts in use:

• “Skippers” HP 350 V8 Chevy Engine, Built in Queenstown / NZL 10 seater
• “Thunder” HP 400 V8 Black Scorpion, Built in Bluff / NZL 10 seater
• “Big Red” Twin engine HP 700 V8, Built in Queenstown / NZL 12 seater

All boats are equipped with Hamilton Jet units. Up to 2,4 tons of weight (marine grade aluminium) all boats are built for maximum strength.
Safety is our high priority. Up to 100 hours driver training is our benchmark, before any pilot carries passengers. We have a 100% safety record.

About several business opportunities in Asia and the USA, Sports Unlimited decides to hand over the German Jetboat branch to their Austrian partner company. From 2011 the new owner will run the site under the same high standard and structures.
