Rap Sliding - History
Founded in New Zealand and known there as Rap Jumping (running down a wall attached to a mountain rope), the Team and Stefan Roos further developed a new form of rapid rope decent event. The finished product must be able to top the emotion of a rapid wall descent. The only possibility to do this, is to be able to release both hands from the rope while descending. By Rap Jumping, House Running or by Mountain Climbing, this is not possible, and a severe accident would occur. The Sports Unlimited specialists put together a system that after a controlled exit, both hands could safely be removed from the rope!
After many attempts where made to get the best results, combining the best components and including all safety considerations, the end product was TÜV inspected and approved and then presented to the public. The trademarked and protected name of this Event is RAP SLIDING.
